Pocketful of Posies

This is the second in Nancy Candelo's magic "X-Block" quilts series. If you've never tried the "X-Block" ruler, you don't know how easy and practical quilt-making can be! Just like her other class "Ribbon Star" (featured at the Pincushion on May 10th, 2008), you learn to make simple to construct 9-patches and end up with a fun design with the leftovers making a complex-looking border. If you already have an "X-Block" ruler, bring it with you, otherwise rulers and patterns will be available at the Pincushion.

For those of you who have enjoyed our year-long Block of the Month series, join Diane Steele at the Pincushion Boutique as she shows you many unusual and unique ways to make all those blocks come together. Whether you have 12, 18, or all 24 blocks, you can easily end up with a quilt like no other! This 2 hour class requires only a notepad and pen plus the blocks you've made in class. You will go home with many ideas plus all the patterns and instructions to make a quilt that will be yours and yours alone.

About our Classes...

When you take a class at the Pincushion, we intend to teach you the basic concepts for the class project. In most classes, time allowed is not enough to finish the project. Our goal is to provide you ample time to grasp the concept of the class. Most projects will need to be completed at home.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Pincushion Boutique cannot guarantee that classes will take place as scheduled. Sometimes we do not have enough students enrolled to meet the teacher minimums. As a result, we highly recommend waiting until the week of class to purchase your class supplies. We'd hate for you to have all your supplies months ahead of time only to have your class cancel.

Class Rules and Regulations:

Classes must be paid for at registration.

Classes may be canceled, and refunds given, if minimum student requirements are not met.

No refunds will be issued for student cancellations with less than 14 day notice.

No auditing of classes.

Students under the age of 16 will not be allowed to rotary cut unless parent is enrolled with them.

No children under age 12 may be enrolled in a class.

NO CHILDREN ARE ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM UNLESS ENROLLED IN A CLASS. YOU MAY NOT BRING INFANTS OR TODDLERS TO CLASS WITH YOU.

Remember your sewing machine and supplies and be able to use your sewing machine with minimal guidance.

You may schedule use of one of our two sewing machines for class with advance notice. A deposit is required.

Please be on time and dress comfortably.

We recommend bringing a sack lunch for day-long classes.
